Οι αυθεντικές ηχογραφήσεις σε στούντιο μουσικής πραγματοποιούνται σε 25-bit samples στα 96kHz ενώ πρόσφατα έγινε εφικτή και η ηχογράφηση σε 24-bit στα 192kHz. Ωστόσο, ένα συνηθισμένο CD προσφέρει ποιότητα στα 16-bit 44.1kHz, δηλαδή περίπου το 15 τοις εκατό των αρχικών πληροφοριών ενός CD. Η περαιτέρω συμπίεση των τραγουδιών στο AAC ‘iTunes Plus’ φορμάτ μειώνει περαιτέρω την χωρητικότητα στο ένα πέμπτο του CD ή στο 3 τοις εκατό των αρχικών 192kHz ηχογραφήσεων.

Adobe releases flash roadmap

As to the actual roadmap content, we’re promised a release of Flash Player 11.2 in the first quarter of 2012, adding support for right and middle mouse button clicks, to be followed by Flash Player “Cyril” in Q2 2012 and Flash Player “Dolores” in the second half of the year. Cyril and Dolores will be updates intended to augment the gaming capabilities on offer, though work is already being planned for Flash Player “Next,” which should come at some point next year.

Platform support will be narrowed down after Flash Player 11.2, which is when Adobe will stop hosting direct downloads for Linux versions of its Flash browser plug-in and will instead direct people to using Google’s Chrome browser, which includes Flash playback capabilities by default. Windows 8 is also very much on Adobe’s mind, but due to the multiple configurations in which that OS can run, we’ll have to wait before we know where and when Flash will be supported. As to mobile, there’s a reminder that Flash Player 11.1 is the last iteration of the software for mobile devices and the only further updates we’ll see from Adobe will be to address critical bugs or security issues.

Apple: App Access to Contact Data Will Require Explicit User Permission

We’re working to make this even better for our customers, and as we have done with location services, any app wishing to access contact data will require explicit user approval in a future software release.

To App Store διαθέτει αυτή τη στιγμή αρκετές χιλιάδες εφαρμογές και παιχνίδια αλλά αυτές που πραγματικά έχουν αφήσει το σημάδι τους σε διάφορα επίπεδα είναι μετρημένες στα δάχτυλα. Τέτοιες εφαρμογές για παράδειγμα ήταν το Tweetie που εισήγαγε το στάνταρ πλέον ‘Pull to Refresh’, το Tweetbot με το design του, το Path κτλπ. Μια παρόμοια εφαρμογή, λοιπόν, που θα αλλάξει τα πάντα είναι και το Clear της Realmac Software που κυκλοφόρησε σήμερα στο App Store.

Αρκετά καλή εφαρμογή. Get it.

Τοποθετήστε τώρα την εφαρμογή δίπλα στον browser σας ώστε να έχετε μια εποπτεία, κάντε κλικ σε ένα από τα logins και σύρτε το εικονίδιο στην bookmarks bar του browser σας. Μόλις δημιουργήσατε ένα bookmark για μια ιστοσελίδα που όταν θα κάνετε κλικ θα σας συνδέει αυτόματα χάριν στο 1Password.

When we took a look at the Chrome for Android beta, we mentioned that Flash wasn’t supported on the software. Now, Adobe has reiterated that decision, stating that the lack of Flash support is consistent with its position to stop developing Flash Player for mobile devices.

Path uploads your entire iPhone address book to its servers

Upon inspecting closer, I noticed that my entire address book (including full names, emails and phone numbers) was being sent as a plist to Path. Now I don’t remember having given permission to Path to access my address book and send its contents to its servers, so I created a completely new “Path” and repeated the experiment and I got the same result – my address book was in Path’s hands.

Chrome for Android beta

Chrome for Android — the long-rumored, oft-requested grand unification of Google’s mobile and desktop browsing technologies — has just been announced today, and it’s being made available immediately as a beta release for phones and tablets running Ice Cream Sandwich.

Τέσσερα χρόνια μετά ως beta στο 1% των Android συσκευών. Είναι ένα πρώτο βήμα.

Σοβαρά τώρα, έχει μερικά ωραία εφέ και θα ήθελα να το δω και στο iOS. Μιας και βασίζεται στο webkit δεν θα υπάρχει πρόβλημα.
